The Gamma omicron chapter (drake)

- Alpha Phi has been on Drake's campus for over 50 years! We have 122 active members, and we take pride in our chapter being involved all over campus. Between sisterhood, social, scholarship and service events, we keep very busy - our calendar is always full of fun things to do with our sisters!
- Above all, the Gamma Omicron chapter is very dedicated to scholarship and service. During the fall 2016 semester, our chapter's average GPA was 3.33, higher than the Panhellenic, All-Greek and All-Campus averages. We also participated in the philanthropy events of every other chapter on our campus, gave over 1400 hours of service to the community, and raised over $18,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
Living in our chapter house is another benefit to being an Alpha Phi here at Drake. There is room for all of our junior and senior members in our unique house, which sits right in the middle of Greek Street. We enjoy suite-style living, in which each suite includes a living room, study area, bathroom, kitchen and two bedrooms. Our main dining room, living room, kitchen and scholarship room are always open for sisters who live on campus or in the house to study, snack and hang out.
At the 2012 Alpha Phi International Fraternity Convention, our chapter received three major awards: Excellence in Recruitment, Most Improved Citizenship and Most Improved Local Advising. In 2012 our chapter also won the award for Outstanding Campus Involvement from Drake University's Dean of Students. At 2013's Alpha Phi Regional Conference, our chapter was recognized as a Partner in Philanthropy for our great contribution to the Alpha Phi Foundation. In 2013 we were also recognized by Drake's Greek Life office as a Chapter of Excellence.
At the 2014 Alpha Phi International Fraternity Convention, our chapter received #1 Recruiting Chapter and was recognized as an Order of the Lamp chapter. At the 2014 Alpha Phi International Regional Conference, we received awards for Outstanding Target Membership Marketing, Outstanding Performance in Formal Recruitment, Appreciation for Philanthropy Efforts, and Order of The Lamp Qualifier.
Most recently, Drake University's Gamma Omicron chapter was recognized at the 2015 Alpha Phi International Fraternity Convention as Chapter of the Year. Along with this great honor, our chapter also received awards such as Outstanding Leadership, #1 Recruiting Chapter, Order of the Lamp, and the Betty Mullins Jones Panhellenic Award. Even our chapter's advisor, Christy Bierma, won the Michaelanean Award for outstanding loyalty and continuous devotion to Alpha Phi. We are so proud of the hard work of the women in our chapter!
